Prior to booking

  • Choosing a physiotherapist can be daunting so feel free to give me a call before your booking to reassure any queries you may have if not listed below. I am always happy to discuss your animal.

  • A veterinary referral form will need to be completed HERE prior to treatment, this enables me to comply with insurance and good practice protocol and have a good background knowledge on what techniques will or will not suit your animal.

Treatment Time

  • Initial consultations take longer as I like to be thorough in the assessment, giving the animals time to become comfortable. Initially this can be approximately 1.5 hours and follow up treatments approximately 1 hours.

  • I ask that prior to treatment the animal is clean and dry and a handler/owner is present.

A detailed gait assessment and analysis will be done to look at symmetry and any areas of improvement. Following this treatment can consist of massage, electrotherapies and exercises. A tailored exercise/home plan will be discussed to ensure longevity of results in between treatments.

Insurance

Most insurance companies do accept physiotherapy as a form of treatment. However I ask that payment is given at the time of treatment and a receipt will be issued to form the basis of the claim back from the company.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your appointment I am happy to do my best to arrange a suitable appointment for you. Cancelling within 24 hours will incur a fee of £15.00 due to taking the slot away from another client.

After Treatment

Most animals are sore the day of and the day after physiotherapy as they adjust to the changes made. Please do not give them exercise sessions the same day of therapy and shorten the next days workload.
